In October of 2013 Wisconsin prosecutors, using the state’s John Doe statute that bars subpoena targets from disclosing the contents of the subpoena’s, launched a series of SWAT-style pre-dawn raids on conservative groups that participated in the debate over the governor’s union reforms. The raids sparked the lawsuit, O’Keefe v. Chisholm. The case is currently before the United States Supreme Court awaiting an order granting certiorari.
