The ethics hounds at DREW (Democrats for Responsible Ethics in Washington) I mean LREW (Liberals for Responsible Ethics in Washington), , er, CREW (Citizens for Responsible Ethics in Washington) tossed off this gem today:
“The FEC’s budget for 2010 was $66.5 million. What exactly is the American public getting for that money?” said [CREW Director Melanie] Sloan. “The incoming Republican majority has promised to zealously attack wasteful government spending in the 112th Congress. The FEC in its current form would be a wonderful place to start.”
Couldn’t have said it better ourselves. Unfortunately, it appears that CREW’s idea is to spend more money on the Commission. Oh well, you can’t have it all.
