In the News: Syracuse Post-Standard (LTE): Political lawn sign restrictions are too much of a burden

David Rubin’s action against the town of Manlius and the town’s Supervisor is very interesting to watch unfold. For those of us who live in Manlius the mountain of regulation around political signage takes awhile to learn. There are town and village regulations and they are not the same. If you live in a village like Fayetteville, the Fayetteville sign regulations supersede the town regulations and the village regulations are stricter.

Rubin’s suit reminds us that we are supposed to care about government … We are supposed to care who handles our collective taxes and who manages our public spaces and makes decisions that will affect…
