ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Center for Competitive Politics (CCP) Legal Director Allen Dickerson will take part in a panel at the American Bar Association (ABA) offices in downtown Washington, DC this evening, Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, from 5-6:30 pm.
Titled, “Citizens United? Evaluating the 2012 Presidential Election in a ‘Super PAC’ World,” the panel will focus on how cases such as Citizens United reverberated and potentially changed the campaign finance landscape during the 2012 presidential election. The panel will be comprised of free-speech advocates, regulatory promoters, and election law practitioners. They will be discussing everything from political activity in the corporate world, shareholder roles and responsibilities, investor litigation, the rise of super PACs and the newest debate over 501 (c)(4) non-profit organizations.
The panel is sponsored by the Section of Individual Rights and Responsibilities of the American Bar Association, and will take place in the John Marshall Conference Room located at 740 15th St. NW, Washington DC.
The Center for Competitive Politics promotes and defends the First Amendment’s protection of political rights of speech, assembly, and petition. It is the only organization dedicated solely to protecting First Amendment political rights.
