Roll Call published an op-ed ($) today written by CCP chairman Bradley Smith regarding Hans von Spakovsky’s nomination to the FEC.

Smith writes in the piece that von Spakovsky’s record during the 21 months he has already served as an FEC commissioner justifies his confirmation.  Smith observes that objections to von Spakovsky stem from "individuals and organizations that harbor a strong distaste for free political speech." Moreover, Smith notes that the objections to von Spakovsky’s confirmation, based on his tenure at DOJ, are "disingenuous."
